The Legacy of a Man with a Passion for the Sea
The story of Vic-Tours Sport Fishing Flamingo is one of passion, hard work, and dedication, built by a man who rose from humble beginnings to become a respected figure in the world of sport fishing in Costa Rica.
From 1985 to 1995, Don Víctor, the founder and heart of the company, worked diligently as a waiter and cleaner in some of the country’s most well-known bars and restaurants, including Bar and Restaurant Papagayo, Condovac La Costa in Playa Hermosa, Sapos Dorado in Monteverde, Mar y Sol Restaurant in Flamingo, and Villas Pacíficas in Playa Brasilito. These formative years instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of service, discipline, and the importance of creating unforgettable experiences for others.
With years of experience as a captain and expert in sport fishing, Don Víctor became a respected collaborator, organizer, and active participant in numerous international sailfish tournaments, including prestigious events held by the Club Amateur de Pesca. His participation earned him valuable recognition and the respect of both the national and international sport fishing community. His unwavering commitment to excellence, professionalism, and deep respect for the ocean have made him a pillar in the coastal community of the North Pacific region.
In addition to his love for the sea, Don Víctor developed a deep connection with the land around him. Over the years, he gained extensive knowledge of Costa Rica’s natural environment and trained as a naturalist guide, leading land tours through national parks, rainforests, and biological reserves.
His experience guiding hikes through lush jungles and protected ecosystems allowed him to share the country’s natural treasures with visitors from around the world, while instilling a deep respect for nature.
This bond with the land beautifully complemented his maritime experience, making him a well-rounded guide and a true ambassador of Costa Rica’s natural beauty.
